The fragrance of Lavender incense is thought by many to have a relaxing effect on the body.
Unfortunately, there haven't been any scientific studies confirming this hypothesis.
However, a recent report confirms that one of its many functions is to relieve anxiety.
In fact, according to Dr. Isadore Rosenfeld, professor of medicine at New York Hospital Weil Cornell Medical Center and a commentator for the Fox news television show "Sunday Housecall"; this report examined the anxiety levels of individuals waiting to see their dentists, which, probably, was high.
According to Dr. Rosenfeld, when Lavender incense was burned in the waiting room, anxiety levels were reduced. He states that it,
"... reduces the level of anxiety by a tremendous amount."
Basically, this means that Lavender incense might prove beneficial for other conditions caused by anxiety.

Insomnia
To begin, one medical condition that might benefit from the use of Lavender incense is Insomnia.
Consequently, Anxiety is one of the causes of Insomnia, with numerous studies showing a strong link between Insomnia and Anxiety.
In fact, one study found that one fourth of those suffering from Insomnia also experienced anxiety.
Respiratory Conditions
Also, many respiratory conditions may improve from inhaling Lavender oil. This is because it contains linalool, a chemical that is known to stimulate the immune system and help with respiratory ailments.
In short, some conditions that it may help are Asthma, coughs and colds, Bronchitis, and sinus and throat infections.
In addition, one study found that Lavender, when taken in conjunction with the prescription medication imipramine, was more effective than either treatment taken alone.
Apparently, it seems to have a balancing effect on the psyche.
